“Zootopia 2” takes place in the same busy animal city of Zootopia, where predators and prey live together. The movie follows police officers Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they deal with a new problem that disrupts the balance of the city.
As they begin to investigate, the story shows how fear, power, and stereotypes can affect different groups in their society.
The message builds off of the first movie by showing that trust and equality are not easy to maintain, even in a place that claims to be so.
New characters and settings are introduced, showing the audience different perspectives within the movie.
I wish a few side characters had more screen time, since they seemed interesting but were not fully developed. Some parts of the movie also felt rushed, especially when new characters were introduced, which made certain moments less impactful.
The movie also touched on serious topics in a way that was easy to understand without feeling like a lecture. Through emotional moments, action, and humor, the film uses animals to reflect real-world social issues, encouraging the audience to think about how to treat one another in themes of conflict.
The movie was entertaining and kept our attention the entire time. Judy and Nick’s teamwork was fun to watch and still felt meaningful throughout the story. The animation was detailed and colorful, which made “Zootopia 2” feel alive and exciting again.
