On Sept. 8, the body of a 14-year-old girl, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, was found in the front truck of a Tesla registered to D4vd, abandoned for several weeks in a Hollywood tow yard. Rivas Hernandez was in the seventh grade.
David Anthony Burke, D4vd, is an American singer and songwriter. Mostly known for his 2022 hit song “Romantic Homicide,” and his collaboration with many artists, Kali Uchis, Grammy winner Laufey, and his songs in award-winning television shows, “Invincible” and “Arcane,” and through social media.
Her family reported her missing at least three times in 2024. On Mar. 19, 2024, Rivas Hernandez ran away for the last time, where it is speculated that she moved into D4vd’s rental property.
There has been a lot of online speculation, with social media sleuths suggesting an alleged romantic relationship between 14-year-old Rivas Hernandez and 20-year-old D4vd, which began in 2021 when Hernandez was 11 years old.
Hernandez’s mother confirms she had a boyfriend named David. Both David Anthony Burke and Rivas Hernandez have a tattoo of the word “shhh…” on their right index fingers.
After the discovery, online sleuths circulate, trying to find evidence surrounding the relationship between Rivas Hernandez and D4vd. Allegedly, photos have resurfaced of the two together, and live stream twitch video of the two and what appears to be D4vd paying off Rivas Hernandez’s classmates, encouraging them not to alert the authorities about their illegal relationship, and online streaming clips of the two.
Despite online speculation, there is no official connection between D4vd and Rivas Hernandez. In addition, many of the social media findings could have been doctored. D4vd’s fans have now critiqued his music and imagery, where many of his lyrics and music videos depict death.
Police have said D4vd is cooperating with the investigation, and detectives searched his rental property. David has canceled all his tour shows as a result. He has not made any comment on the investigation.
Despite what seems like an excessive amount of evidence as of Oct 1, D4vd has not been considered a suspect, and the case has not been declared a homicide.
