Isabella Berg is a creative junior who has her own business aside from going to school. While being a full-time student she is a part-time nail technician.
What is your job? Can you describe how you started?
I am a nail technician. When the pandemic first started, I was bored in my house and my mom wanted me to do something. So her and dad put money together and ever since then I started doing nails.
What are your hours? How do you balance work with school?
I usually take my clients on the weekends. I try not to take any clients on the weekdays because schoolwork is a lot and I try to balance that out. If there is a time I take a client on a weekday it’s usually only one. But on the weekends I usually take up to four clients.
What’s the best thing about having your own business?
I’m able to balance out my own schedule which helps with focusing on school.
How does this affect school life?
I don’t really let it affect my school life because I work my business around my school work. My school work is my first priority.
Do you see yourself doing nails forever?
I’m just trying to see where this takes me. Although I'm not doing this as my profession, I can always do this on the side forever. Maybe one day this could become something bigger than what it is now.
