Aliyat Ajisafe is a senior at Pace High School who is an active member of the Pace Association for Crochet and Knitting (PACK). She shared her history and recent experiences with this pastime of hers.

I heard that you’re in the Pace Association for Crochet and Knitting. What was it about this club that initially peaked your interest?
When I was in Nigeria, I used to crochet, but I don’t know how to knit very well.
What made you continue to knit and crochet? What would you say is your favorite part about it?
Making clothes.
How long have you been a member of the Pace Association of Crochet and Knitting?
My junior year, October 2023.
Can you tell us about some creations you’ve made and how often you use them?
I’ve made hats, vests, bags, shirts, and scarves. I don’t really use them often.
Do you usually spend money to get materials or does the knitting club provide you with them?
Both.
What days and time does the knitting club meet?
Every Wednesday after school.
Do you think that club has a lot of recognition? Do you think people should know about it?
Yes, more people should know about it.
How has Mr. Weber helped you in your hobby?
Mr. Weber has helped me a lot. In advisory, he would teach me how to knit.
